The Root of All Evil 邪惡的根源

只看過Richard Dawkins的暢銷書《The Selfish Gene》，是他30年前的名作，想不到今天的他竟演化為一位反神論者。Dawkins上年[2006]拍了一連兩輯的紀錄片，名為《The Root of All Evil》，矛頭直插宗教，理斥神的蠱惑(The God Delusion)和信仰病毒(The Virus of Faith)。

片中內容不詳談了，反而有一句引語頗抵死，是出自諾貝爾得獎物理學家Steven Weinberg：

"Religion is an insult to human dignity. With or without it you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion."

但Weinberg似乎講漏了一句：And for evil people to do good things, that takes religion too.

是的，宗教可以使人面目全非。自己的觀察，壞人信教多數能夠變好，但好人信教則不一定變得更好，偶然甚至變得有點可怕。
